Mac OS Catalina wont connect to Canon 5D Mkii

Canon EOS 5D Mark II

"Up until this morning I was able to both tether my camera(EOS Utility) and import photos (Lightroom) Half way through my tethered shoot the tethering stopped working.

I’m currently using mac OS Catalina v10.5.7,
was using EOS Utility 2 but this morning after the issues updated to 3,
Lightroom Classic v9.4 again after issues updated to v10

The updates have made no difference.

I have also bought a new cable in case this was the issue. No change.

No program recognises my Canon 5D MKii camera. Which makes me think it is either the camera or the Mac. The camera Firmware is updated as it can be.

I can’t even import my photos.

Do you know why?"
.

Hi Kat,

Sorry to hear you are having troubles getting your photos to download from your Canon 5D M2 using macOS Catalina v10.5.7. I would think that the issue is with your mac and not with the Canon 5D Mark II. I have no experience with mac at all and suggest you get help from experienced mac users.

Transfer from 5D Mark II to mac computer

I'd also suggest removing you memory card from your 5DM2 and inserting it directly into your mac (or using the appropriate adapter. In my own workflow I never use cables to transfer cables and transfer directly from my 5D Mark II and 90D to my laptop or desktop computer.

Let me know how you solve this issue. It may help another mac-5d Mark II user with similar issues.
