Thanks for asking about using your Canon Powershot as a webcam. This is a question I get asked frequently, whether the Canon Powershot cameras can be used as webcams.
The Canon 400SX IS is not listed as compatible to work with the Canon Webcam software on the Canon website.

Unfortunately the SX400 IS is a budget camera released in 2014 with somewhat limited capabilities.
