G1X Mark II Release

The release of the G1X Mark II now changes this answer quite a bit.
The major improvements in the lens and its focusing make the G1X Mark II a much superior camera than the G1X with the exception of not having an optical viewfinder.

If you can afford the electronic viewfinder it's an easy decision to get the newer G1X Mark II.

It is pricier, for sure. The faster focusing and closer focusing lens and its wider aperture make it a much better camera.
