Canon M200 Mirrorless Blurry Photos

Hi! In 2023 I purchased a Canon M200 Mirrorless camera with little camera experience, and absolutely loved it. I found it so easy to shoot with, traveled to Europe with it twice, brought it everywhere with me. I don’t even think I ever messed with the settings because every photo came out perfect, to the point where you could almost see every pore on my face that’s how clear the photos were. Sometime over the years I lost this camera :( I still am not sure how it happened, I think I accidentally left it somewhere in my travels. I pulled the plug and purchased another one about a month ago, after thinking about that camera almost everyday since I lost it. I also spent about $400 more for it this time around, the price of cameras has gone insane. With the new one, I can’t quite seem to figure out how to get my photos as sharp/ “perfect” looking as they were with my first one. I’ve tried to mess with the settings, changed the shutter speed, lighting, etc. Every photo I take seems to be slightly blurry, which is very frustrating. I am traveling again in the fall and really want to bring this camera. I almost feel like the flash/shutter has somewhat of a delay? Like the sound sounds off to me? I’m not sure if that makes sense. I’ll attach example photos from both cameras as well so you can see what I mean. Sorry this is so lengthy, if you have any advice for me at all I would greatly appreciate it! I love your blog and you seem very knowledgeable

Hi Emily,

sorry for your issues with your Canon mirrorless M200 camera.
Can you send the original, full size images for me to look at. That would give me the camera settings of the images. The images you sent are tiny, so it's difficult for me to formulate an opinion on the problem. Send to brucelovelace (at) verizon(dot)net

Thanks so much,
Bruce
