I have a R6 & R7 camera.
I use a 300 f2.8 mk1, 70-200, and a 100-400 lens across both bodies.
In conjunction I use a 1.4 mk2 converter.

Image quality with the converter is not great images are hazy. I have been told by a Canon agent repair shop the the mk2 converter is not compatible with the R series camera bodies. As the mk2 does not support multi-point focusing.
Only mk3 is compatible.

What are your thoughts?

Hi Myer, Thanks for your contribution to the CanonGeek website regarding using a tele-converter on your Canon R6 and R7. I've never been a fan of tele-converters. They were helpful in the film days before digital photography arrived on the scene. Now that the sensors (like the R6 and R7) have such high resolution, it makes more sense to just crop your images rather than add the extra lens shortcomings that come along with tele-converters. Do your own test and I think you'll find similar results.

It's just my opinion, but that's what I found out with my own photography.

Good luck,
Bruce
