Best Canon For You

Hi Tammy.

thanks for asking about choosing a Canon camera with WIFI, for under $500, that you'll be able to use for senior portraits and vacation photos. Based on the 4 Canon cameras you mentioned, only the Rebel t7 satisfies your wishes. Coincidentally, I just update my post titled "Best Canon Cameras Under $500." I'm sure you'll find it helpful to read it.

Best Canon For You

Canon t7

The Canon Rebel t7 is capable of shooting beautiful senior portraits provided you use good lighting and a decent lens. Paired with a good general purpose zoom lens, the t7 sensor is plenty capable of delivering sharp, colorful vacation photos.

Having been released in 2018, it is not that old in terms of technology and the price is very affordable and fits in your budget including a kit lens. If you were interested in shooting sports or wildlife in action, my recommendation would turn away from the t7, but you didn't mention those types of photography.

EOS M5

The M5 is an interesting offer by Canon, but it's out of your price range, particularly because of the cost of the lens(es) you have to buy as well. I like the size of the camera, its technical specs and image quality.

Canon 90D

I highly recommend the 90D to many of the Canon Geek readers, but usually that's for photographers that are experienced DSLR shooters and are upgrading from an older Canon. I absolutely live the focusing speed, the super fast frame rate, and video capabilities of my 90D.
The camera body alone costs more than double what your targeted investment is.

Rebel t5

The Canon Rebel t5 is a bit older, released in 2014, and a bit outdated in terms of technology. The t5's have come down in price and you can still find new ones on the market. I think the Rebel t7 is a better value that the Rebel t5. The t5 does not have WIFI. That came along with the Rebel t6.

Hope this helps.
Keep in touch.
Bruce
