Determining The Age (production date)
Of A Canon EF-S Lens?

Old Canon 18-55mm Kit Lens

I recently bought an EOS 60D. The camera came with an EF_S 18-135mm and an EF 75-300mm lens.
I've been reading your article on the Kit lenses, specifically the EF_S 18-55mm. Is there a method to determine the approximate production date of a specific pre-owned lens, say @KEH or EBAY?

Thanks,

Hi Rex,

Thanks for asking if you can determine how old a Canon kit lens is. Yes, you can determine the manufacturing date, depending on what time frame it was made.

How To Determine Age Of Canon Lens

This was beyond my personal knowledge base, as I was not shooting Canon back then, but here is a post worth reading: Determining Age Of Old Canon Lenses.

I hope this helps!
Thanks,
Bruce
