What is the procedure for updating firmware on my G3X using an iMac computer. I downloaded it now what do I do?

Hi Mark!

Thanks for your question about the Canon G3X firmware update. I hope you are enjoying your G3X. It's a great camera, compact but still has a nice 1 inch sensor.

Canon G3X Firmware Update

Rather than write out a detailed instruction, I found this video which does a real good job of showing you from start to finish of how to upgrade the firmware on your Canon G3X: Firmware Update.

It's a simple matter of downloading the update to your computer and then copying it to your camera's memory card, and then copying from your memory card (once it's back in your camera).
