Canon Eos Rebel T100 Shutter Release
by Steven
(Texas)
Canon Rebel T100 Camera Terminals
"Hello, I had recently received a Rebel T100 for Christmas and have began photography (hopefully) as a lifelong hobby. I've taken a liking to longer shutter speed photos such as nighttime and starry skies. The problem is unwanted blur when I press the shutter button, even with a tripod. So I figured a remote shutter would help. I know the t100 has the option for connecting my phone, but it just feels awkward, clunky, and unresponsive.
My question is, what remote shutters would work on the t100, if any?
I've done a lot of browsing online and in stores, but can seem to find any that would work because I don't have the specific jack on my camera. My camera has just an hdmi and I believe a usb mini-b (see photo). I don't have Bluetooth and I don't believe I have IR. I know the t100 is kind of an outlier to other mainstream bodies, which I presume is why it's so hard to find any information regarding it.
Thank you for your help."
Hi Steven,
Thanks for asking about a way to shoot long exposures with your Canon T100 on a tripod without transferring any movement from depressing the shutter button.
Canon Rebel T100 Shutter Activation
Typically, there are three ways to trigger your shutter without using your finger and causing any blur from camera movement. Cameras can be triggered by tethering a cord, wirelessly, or by using the self timer.
The Rebel T100 has no terminal ports to attach a shutter cord, so that leaves you with two options. Canon shooters can download the
Canon Connect app to their mobile device and communicate with the T100 wirelessly. It is clunky for sure. I personally don't do any wireless with any of my Canon camera bodies for that reason, but I know photographers who do.
YouTube Video on setting up WiFi on the

websiteOption 3 is the method I use when I shoot long exposure nighttime, waterfalls, and other similar situations. Generally the timing of start of the exposure is not critical for the type of photography I do, so the 2 second timer works well for me.
Canon Rebel T100 Features
Critics say that the T100 was quite a lame offering for a DSLR from Canon. It has some limitations with its features, including an older sensor, outdated focusing system, very slow burst rate, and limited ISO range.
With that said, it still a lot of technology for a budget price. It was and still is a camera targeted toward beginners who aren't going to need all the features of a full-feature DSLR or mirrorless camera. It feels, looks like, and behaves like a DSLR because it is one.
Steven, please let me know if this answers your question. Although you have a limitation with firing your Rebel T100 remotely, you can still take great long exposure photographs. Your technique and artistic experimenting matter the most.

Canon EOS Rebel T100 (4000D)
Hello I am looking to purchase the Canon EOS Rebel T100 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Zoom Len or the Canon EOS Rebel T100 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens Kit, 18 Megapixel Sensor, Wi-Fi, DIGIC4+ and Live View Shooting. (Not sure if they are the same camera or not)
Im looking for a nice wireless photo printer that is compatible that will print multiple size pictures. Can you give me a few options, its for an adult prom.
Hi Fee Fee.
Thanks for asking about a printer for your Canon EOS Rebel T100. The Canon T100 was released in 2018. It is plenty affordable and will do just fine for your needs. Your lighting is the most important thing to pay attention to.
Wireless Photo Printer For Canon EOS Rebel T100
As far as printers for your T100, I have no experience with that. Your best bet is to visit Amazon to read the reviews and do a few test runs before your event. Compatibility won't be an issue for you.
Good Luck,
Bruce

Canon 75-300mm Lens On Canon Rebel T100
by Steve
(Castorland NY 13620)
Canon Rebel T100 Camera
"will the canon 75-300mm zoom lens work on a canon eos rebel T100" - Steve
Hi Steve,
Thanks for asking if the Canon 75-300mm lens will be compatible with the Canon T100 camera. The Canon 75-300 is an EF lens, meaning that it gives you a larger image circle on the sensor in whatever Canon DSLR camera you want to use it on.
The Canon Rebel T100 has the smaller, APS-C "crop" sized sensor, so both the smaller EF-S And EF lenses (like the EF 75-300mm) will work on your Rebel T100.
EF and EF-S Compatibility
For a better understanding see the helpful posts on
Canon EF Versus EF-S LensesCanon Lens/Camera CompatibilityCanon 75-300
It's a great match with the T100 for shooting distant wildlife, action and sports, as well as perfect for portraits and headshots with it's 4x telephoto zoom focal length. There are 3 versions of the 75-300, with the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM the most recent and highest quality.
Canon Rebel T100
Announced in 2018 at a remarkably affordable price point, the Rebel T100 is a great value for beginner DSLR shooters. Its APS-C sensor makes the very affordable EF-S lenses, as well as any used EF lenses, a great a great way to get involved in interchangeable lens cameras.
Steve, I hope this helps!
Happy shooting!

Can I Attach RF100-400mm F5.6-8 lens
to Rebel T100 Camera
by Brook
(Canada )
Canon T100 (4000D) APS-C Camera
"Is there anyways of putting a RF100-400mm F5.6-8 Lens on a Canon EOS Rebel T100"
Hi Brook!
Thanks for asking about compatibility between one of the new Canon RF lenses intended for mirrorless Canon cameras, the RF 100-400mm telephoto zoom lens.
The quick answer is no. You cannot attach Canon RF lenses to EF-S mount cameras like the Rebel T100 (also known as the 4000D).
T100 Lens Compatibility
Canon RF lenses are designed to be compatible with mirrorless cameras that have a much closer attachment to the mirrorless camera sensors. The flange difference is different.
You might consider a Canon EF 75-300 or a Tamron or Sigma 150-600mm lens for your T100. Your T100 is an excellent DSLR camera, perfect for beginner DSLR shooters, and you should match a budget lens with it.
The Canon RF lenses cannot be adapted to fit APS-C, full-frame or ESO-M mirrorless cameras. You
can adapt EF and EF-S lenses to fit on mirrorless cameras with an adapter. Essentially it's a spacer that increases the flange distance for achieving the right distance between the lens and the sensor.
Good Luck!
Bruce

Canon EOS 4000D T100 Lens Question
by Nerissa

Canon EOS 4000D (T100)
With EF-S 10-18mm Lens
Hello!
I have a Canon EOS 4000D DSLR with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III lens. Would this be compatible with a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III zoom lens? Thanks!
Hi Nerissa,
Thanks for your question about compatible lenses for the Canon EOS 4000D camera, also known as the T100. Yes, the EF 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 III will work just fine with the Canon 4000D.
Canon 4000D Lenses
Your EOS 4000D is a "crop" camera, meaning it has the slightly smaller APS-C sized sensor. Canon APS-C cameras, like your 4000D, can take either the smaller EF-S lenses like the one you already own, as well as the larger EF lenses, like the EF 75-300mm lens you're considering.
The Canon 4000D APS-C sensor can use either EF or EF-S lensesI published a very short video on YouTube about EF and EF-S lenses for Canon cameras that will be very helpful for you to watch
Canon EF and EF-S Lenses.
Because your Canon EOS 4000D-T100 has a "crop" sensor, you'll get a nice powerful reach with that lens, the equivalent view of a 120-480mm zoom. It's a really good lens for your Canon 4000D. Here's more on camera and their
Crop Factor.
Nerissa, I hope this was helpful. Can you let me know if this answers your question?
Thanks,
Bruce

"Canon EOS 3000d not flashing with my hot shoe? How do I fix this?"
Hello unknown reader,
Thanks for your question but I don't understand your situation exactly. Can you comment back please?
Is your pop-up flash on your T100/3000D not working or do you have an external flash mounted on your camera that isn't firing? Does the test button work?
Thanks,
Bruce

Trade in Canon EOS 4000d, Rebel T100
For a Canon mirrorless camera

"want to trade In my canon EOS 4000d for a canon mirrorless o e, do you know where o can do it at.
Aqlullc@gmail.com"
Hello Hiakeem,
Thanks for asking about trading in your Canon Rebel T100 (4000D). Unfortunately, it's an "old" camera, being released in 2018, and is a beginners camera too. That mean it's not worth much on the market.
You could try selling it separately on eBay or try trading it in at KEH.
Good Luck,
Bruce
